The latest trend seems to be if a questioner doesn't like your answer you not only get a violation notice, but also get a nasty email from them.
If you don't want a cross section of answers don't post a question !!!

The main problem is that Yahoo!Answers is an open site where almost anyone can post a question or answer. This means that some nasty and offensive people can use it, hidden behind their avatars and screennames. This problem seems worse in the more subjective areas such as the Religion section and the Politics section as well.
You also find the more offensive posters and answerers don't allow email. So they are too hidden
I've found I'm more of a target for my strong Christian beliefs and my views on evolution, and also my being a bassist.
There should be permanent bans for people like these.....! Like you've said, if you don't want a range of opinion, get off Answers!

I agree, but people should always remember what it would be like to walk in someone else's shoes before answering a question. That being said if you do not like the answer, report it. That is enough, if you should even take it that far. Emailing others should be kept to personal or helpful use.

Your question has nothing to do with Culture & Groups, but your observation is correct. I just ignore those people and typically suggest they get counseling. Anyone who feels the need to attack someone for disagreeing with them or posting something they didn't like, esp if it wasn't mean or vulgar, needs to address their own issues.
