My mom always told me that a year was the expiration for perfume, and to never buy a larger quantity than I could use in that time. Anything older should be thrown out.

Can't swear to it for all, but I know some do change substantially in that amount of time.

I don't think it expires, but I do think under certain conditions the scent will change. If exposed to sunlight, intense heat or cold, etc. I used to buy perfume direct from a place in France that came in a metal bottle. It would last for years (until it was used up). A lot of perfumes come in glass bottles because packaging is a strong selling point. You should store your perfume (if in a glass bottle) in a cool dry place like a drawer of your dresser or in a closet not in the bathroom.

I think under certain conditions perfume could change its scent somewhat.

Yes - it can loose it's potency or even start to smell funky - to prolong it's life, store it in the fridge!

i know i left some in the car i think the sun made it bad and yellow weird but word of edvice dont leave your smell good stuff in the car! :)

I dont know but my gma had stuff that was allwater on top and all the stuff was on the bottom, thenshe shook it up idk?
