Brooklyn for and people I know don't like but that's because I'm from N.Y.C. there's a lot of people who think it's mad stupid. But I don't care for it from a girl. Victoria posh named their kid Brooklyn and he's a boy I believe the name is mostly known for boys, I think what someone else answered Brooke Lyn is better for a girl. I guess Brooklyn doesn't sound to bad if your not from New york and you found out you were pregnant when you were in Brooklyn or you know the baby was conceived in Brooklyn, then it might be cute and make sense.

My little cousin is named Brooke Lynn. And everyone calls her by first and last name. So Brooklyn is wonderful. But coming up with a middle name that flowed well would be hard.

Yes, I have a friend who named her daughter Brooklyn about 6 years ago. I think it is very pretty. I don't know how popular it is, but it is a pretty name.

While it is a pretty name in and of itself, I make it a point to avoid Place names simply by virtue of the fact that they are easily tarnished.
For instance, I love the name Jasper, but can't bring myself to use it because I grew up very near Jasper, Texas. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jasper_texas#Notable_Events)
It is also quite common among the younger set where I currently live (on the other side of Louisiana). It is a very pretty name, though.

I am torn. It sounds kinda cool, but makes me think of Brooklyn New York, which is sort of a slummy part of the city and then it makes me not like it so much.

Yes! It is a beautiful name, and it is an uncommon variation of Brook. Brook is a sort of...well...boring name, and Brooklyn makes it exciting and girly!
