is this why mine freezes 2-3 times a day (I play it all day and night most of the time)

That's absurd. If your system is freezing, there might be a problem with it. Or maybe you're not keeping it in a well ventilated area. I've used mine for hours straight without any freezing problems.

The Xbox360 contains graphics hardware, much like a PC. In essence the Xbox 360 IS a pc, but in a console packet. Playing highly graphical games will mean the box heats up of a period of use. Heat could cause the box to exhibit weird behaviour or crash. Use it until you start getting issues, then turn it off if it feels excessively hot to the touch, to allow it to cool down. 5 minutes should be plenty of time.

Be wary of that cooler though. My boyfriend bought one and there is an alert out on it. The cooling systems themselves have been bricking (FRYING) 360s. Be very careful when you install this product. It is not made by Microsoft so if it does fry your system, it would not be covered at all!

Well that might work but here is a cheap solution. For only $20.00 you can buy a cooler for it so it doesn't do that. Well and also your xbox might be overheating too. If your x-box 360 doesn't overheat then don't get this!!!

You are burning your electronics out by keeping the machines on for several hours in a row without a break and doing this constantly.

if u play it 2 long its gonna freeze. its a hard wrking system u nedd 2 giv it a break. every nite it cries itself 2 sleep because OF U, U TORTURE IT
