Undo the plastic trap at the bottom of your bath this will be a right hand thread, turn to the right to loosen and remove the trap be careful not to tip this up as it will contain some water, take this and pour boiling water from a kettle in-to the trap this will clear all the goo from the pipe, make sure all the rubber washers are still in place then reconnect trap to pipe this will cure your problem.

Sandra gave a good solution. I would add that you will want to consult the directions on the can and/or someone who has used the product before to make sure the space is not too large for proper application. You probably will need to put something over the foam after it sets, like a piece of drywall or wood moulding to keep the foam from being damaged by cleaning tools and shoes. You want to seal the cover on the edges so it will keep the foam dry. This will give you a finished look to the area, as well.

Sorry to put down anyone else's suggestions but I have found that the liquids etc. to pour down don't work that well.
An old fashioned plunger is the best thing for the job and will only cost a few pounds. If a plumber comes out it is the first thing he would do.
Make sure you cover the overflow with a cloth when plunging though.

try using a plunger first (fill bath with a few inches of water)hold cloth/sponge
make sure you cover the waste its the over flow pipe (where the plug chain is at the top close to taps) put plunger over plug hole fill with hot water push on plunger 2 or 3 times mix washing soda with hot water that should do it
whats best with this is there are no harsh chemicals

You could get a long brush from a pound shop and twist it around in the pipe. This should clear it. Some of these bigger pound shops sell drain unblockers usually a coiled lenth of metal.

Forget Mr Muscle, go to a plumbers merchant and buy a bottle of drain cleaning acid, pour it in and leave overnight if possible, your drain will be like new.

just uncouple the ubend and flush it out in the sink.it will smell a bit,the nylon nuts are normally only hand tight,if to tight just use a pair of grips to undo.if you cant get the panel off you might laugh but women's spray on hair remover will break the hairs down, just spray or pour plenty in plug hole leave for 30Min's then run the tap.it does work
