Boise State is in Boise, Idaho.
They didn't get to play Ohio State because they haven't played anyone really tough this year in their regular schedule, whereas Ohio State and Florida both had tough schedules and went either undefeated or only had only one loss. When you're unranked coming into the season, it's really difficult to jump into the top spots without beating ranked opponents. One of the best ways to get to play ranked oponents is to be in one of the bigger conferences. In the bigger conferences, you typically play 8 other schools in your conference, and most likely a few of them are ranked. This year, it basically came down to who they played.

Boise St is in Idaho. They play in one of the conferences that is outside of what might be called the "big six" or major conferences - The Pac 10, Big 10, Big 12, SEC, ACC and Big East. It is extremely difficult for anyone outside of those conferences to get into a BCS bowl game (Rose, Orange, Sugar etc) much less get a shot at the National championship. Too bad there is no way Boise can go on to play the winner of the Ohio St - Florida game, I think there would be at least some interest across the country in seeing it.

Because their strength of schedule was very weak. Ohio State plays Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State, Purdue, Iowa, Michigan State, etc., and Boise State plays University of Phoenix Online, Appalachian Teachers College, and Our blessed sisters of the Blind, etc. Got it?

Boise State is in Idaho, Ohio State is somewhere in Maryland. That's why they didn't play.

Boise State plays in the Western Athletic Confrence or the WAC, and it's not a BSC confrence. They didn't have as tough a schedule as OSU also. I think their win over OU was a good one, and I think it got them some attention, and possibly might get them moved into a bigger confrence.

because they were ranked highenough because the screwed up system we call the bcs is about getting the schools that will make them money ...they are not really about finding the best college football team
