Your baby NEEDS his/her last 3 weeks in your womb if at all possible. Those last 3 weeks are when the baby gains weight and the lungs mature. Babies born at 37 weeks are often fine, BUT they are sometimes not at all fine. Some babies born at 37 weeks have immature lungs and end up in the Intensive Care Nursery on oxygen. Let nature take its course...don't try to rush things. If babies were truly ready at 37 weeks, they would be born at 37 weeks! I hope all goes well for you

I'm 38 weeks and i am also trying to induce labor naturally. i just went to the doct yesterday and he stripped my membranes. has your doct done so yet? you can try Castor oil.. that will bring on contractions. i asked the doct and the nurses at the hospital and it doesn't do anything to the baby or you. you will have the runs though and that's the only bad thing. some people went into labor so fast it wasn't even funny. some just got contractions and some it didn't do anything for. i just took 4 table spoons a couple hours ago and my contractions are coming way more and more painful then normally. also you can walk too. if not outside walk from room to room in your home. walking and squatting will dilate you more and also bring contractions fast. sex also but these things also work too. Good luck!

I had sex with my husband a few days ago after a looong stint of no sex... and lost my mucus plug a day later. I just hit 37 weeks... so i know how you feel... lol. Its not the climax, its the sperm. It has labor hormones in it.
Walking gives me contractions, that might help.
Also, any doctor or midwife will tell you that stimulating your nipples with a pump or just manurally for an hour or so a few times a day released labor hormones and causes uterine contractions.
Theres really no magical way to speed things up. But staying active can really help.
We'll be there soon.. lol.

I tried evrything to get my son to be born but nothing ever worked. Try some Castor oil. You can get it at Wal Mart in the laxative section I believe. Mix it with some Rootbeer. My friend tried that but she had to drink a bottle a day for two days for it to work. I was nine days overdue with my son after I tried everything that I read online I could do to get him here soon. I ended up having to be induced at the hospital with pitocin. Your baby will come when their ready. BTW, I even had lots of sex. We had sex multiple times during the day and I reached climax each time but still NO BABY!!! He/SHe will get here when their ready. Just enjoy your sleep now because when their born it will be non existent.

Hi I walked alot. That helped me out. Also try a hot shower. That sometimes works. Also Sex that helps alot. As long as it dosnt hurt or bother you. Other then that you can talk to your doc and they can always induce labor. Good luck and congrats on the baby.

Sex or exercise are the best ways. Castor oil is NOT!! It is a mild poison, and should not be taken internally on a regular basis, and not at all when you are pregnant. If you need some kind of help detoxifying, you can use a castor oil pack (this is just to tell you how to really use castor oil, that it is not to induce labor). The instructions for that are here: http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/dietarytherapy/a/CastorOilPack.htm

I don't know if it was a fluke or what, but i was a week late, and i heard that if you walked on an uneven surface it would speed things up. So, i walked with one foot on the curb and the other on the street and it worked. I also heard tacos worked. Either awy, they would be enjoyable :)

Sex followed by a day of walking as much as possible worked for me.
Also, your doctor can strip your membranes to stimulate your system and weaken the bag of water (if you are adequately dialated (about 3cm.))
