Having a pentagram, by itself, means nothing, good or bad.
The pentagram has come to be associated with evil only recently; traditionally it has been used by a wide range of groups that have nothing whatever to do with evil, Satan worship, or anything along those lines. The symbol has been co-opted and if you're a practitioner of black magic, a Satan worshiper, etc. and you use the symbol, then of course you're using it to represent something "evil." If you're Wiccan, for example, or a free mason, then you're using the Pentagram to symbolize something good.
Like everything, it depends a lot on intent and perception -- what the user intends for it to symbolize, and how others interpret it. As far as intent, the vast majority of uses of the Pentagram are associated with "good."

The pentagram is an ancient symbol, not related to devil worship (since the devil only exists within Christianity). It is commonly associated with Wicca, a pagan religion that has nothing to do with the devil. It is sometimes (a a pentacle) connected with the element of Earth, and is also a symbol of protection.
In some occult thinking, the five points on a pentagram represent the four elements (Earth, Air, Fire, Water), plus the fifth element, Spirit or Soul. The "good" version shows one point facing upward, representing the power of spirit over the four elements. The "satanic" version has the one point facing downward (thus two facing upward), representing the power of the world over the spirit.
This inverted pentagram also looks vaguely like a goat's head, and is depicted as such in many occult images, including on the Devil card in the Rider-Waite tarot deck.

There is no "up" or "down" to the pentagram.
The pentagram is a five pointed star which represents the elements of earth wind, water, fire, and spirit. The star can point any way you like - that's why it's enclosed in a circle and can be rotated easily.
Many pagans and wiccans use the pentagram in their rituals. Neither group believes in or worships the devil. Peace.

Reasons for having a pentagram can be as simple as liking the symbol.
When the star is facing the traditional way, one point up, it can mean anything from paganism (which is entirely separate from Christianity and has nothing to do with devil worship) to early Christianity (when the five points were considered synonymous with the five wounds of Christ).
When the star is set with two points up and contains an image of a goat's face, it indicates Satanism, but that still doesn't prove that the wearer is worshipping the devil.

No.
It's just a geometric shape.
A five-pointed star with one point at the top is a common symbol used in a lot of different places, including on a well-done paper graded by a first- or second-grade teacher.
The same star with two points at the top has been associated with devil worship ever since the Knights Templar were unjustly persecuted and banished by the puppet church acting as a patsy to the French crown back in the early 1300's, but the use of that symbol for that purpose was probably just invented as part of the above-mentioned smear campaign.
Devil worship doesn't actually exist except in the minds of people who imagine that they are worshipping the devil. There is no such thing as inadvertent devil worship.
What matters is what's in your heart and what you do with your life.

A Pentagram is a five-sided figure, a geometrical shape.
A Pentacle, on the other hand, is an occult symbol. It is used mainly in Wiccan rites, but it has an even older pedigree than Wicca, for it is the ancient symbol of Man (mankind). The idea of Wiccans worshiping the devil ids false, no matte what Hollywood says.

the goddess star? Why would you think it was bad?
Oh riiight I forgot because everyone else says so.
Here's the scoop. The pentacle/pentagram up....protection from outside forces......pentacle/pentegram down...protectioon from inner sources. While some would like to have you believe that the "upside down star" is a bad thing it's really not.
That's it. The five points represent the five elements. 5 elements, you say?! Yes 5. Earth, Air, Fire, Water and spirit...or human-ness. feel free to interpretate that any way you see fit. All life can be seen through the five elements. yadd yadda yadda....I won't give you a long lecture.
Just know a pentacle or pentagram is not bad or "of the devil"

Actually, a pentagram is a symbol of the element earth as well as bringing all the elements together as one. It really has nothing to do with the devil. That misconception was brought about by the church during the witch hunts and the attempts to violently convert pagans (who don't even believe the devil exists) over to Christianity,

At the very basic it means you like pentagrams.
The symbol it self have neither a good or bad connotation, nor does it means the wearer is a devil worshiper. From a Wiccan prospective, we do not believe in a Satan nor a single manifestation of evil. Lots of Goths wear pentagrams who are neither pagan or satanist.

The pentagram predates any notions of devil-worship. It's an ancient symbol of power and protection to the people of the ancient religions.
