when i put the truck in reverse it take a while to "kick in" and when i put it in park there is no park

Parking pawl is totally stripped = no park.

Filter is plugged = hesitant reverse.

Check your transmission fluid level first, if its low add fluid. As for no park, in some of the new vehicles the park mechanism is partially electronic so check your fuses. If no problems found then your transmission needs worked on by a shop.
