Well, not all banks in the US do. Where we live they do not. If my Wells Fargo Branch did that it would really bother me, like they are expecting me to do something... My brother in law is a manger for Bank of America and his branches don't have the glass either, maybe it is based on where you live??? or what kind of neighborhood you are in? Don't know. Was it back East?
The only time we are seperated by glass would be when I am in the drive thu.

The "glass partitions" are, in fact, plexiglass and are in place so that anybody attempting to rob the bank cannot harm the teller if he or she is armed with a gun. Perhaps in Canada there is a lower crime rate for the area in which you live, i hope. Hope this helped my canadian friend.

thats because canada has no money to rob. I have only heard of hockey shop holdups. is that why hockey players have a glass shield on their helmet?
