They won 1 game against an average BCS conference team...big deal.
Hopefully the BCS conferences will get smart and institute a playoff system for next season.

I agree with some other people, the Broncos beat an average BCS team. OH and they barley beat them. If not for some trick plays and guts OU would have one. Boise State doesn't have the depth of a big school like that. I was rooting for the Broncos, i know they can win a game against a good team, but they wouldn't be able to survive a whole season against BIG opponents such as in the SEC. OU wasn't even so good anyway... the playoff system won't come anyway... Bowl games give a ton of money to the colleges participating in them. Utah went undefeated a few years ago and won a BCS bowl game, but no playoff system was created. GO GATORS!!!

Great season BSU, but can you do it again? Can you make this a tradition? Can you rise like the storied football dynasties of USC, Miami, FSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Alabama, Nebraska? Will you rise or will you become another Northwestern?
I will state this, I do think that if Rutgers, Wake Forest played the same schedule, they would have went 12-0 too. Get some top 25 opponents to silence the critics.
Unfortunately, due to NCAA red tape, by the time that you do get top 25 caliber opponents, it'll be 2010 or 2011, and the 2006 season could only be a distant memory of remember that game. It could potentially be 2010 and BSU could be that "Mid Tenn St"-like opponent for someone. So if you can sustain your program, ramp up recruiting, you could keep yourselves on a future schedule as a red letter date instead of a "ho-hum" date by the media.
Great season all in all, but be honest with yourselves, the SEC/Big 10 schedule vs a Western/Mountain West schedule?
But at least you handled the WAC and way to lay the smack down on the Mountain West conference!

While I still don't believe Boise State could hold up to a full season in the big ten or sec. . . . they were very very good against Oklahoma the other night. Oklahoma is not a great power this year but Boise State did prove they can play with a BCS conference school. THeir win was totally awesome and their play calling was spectacular!!!! It was so much fun rooting for them and riding the emotional rollercoaster that the last ten minutes of that game was!!! Boise State epitomizes everything that SPORTS is SUPPOSED TO BE!!! A group of players playing ONLY for the team and NOT for personal accolades!!! Even their coaches gave credit to the back up qbs for calling the hook and ladder to tie the game!!! Great Job Boise State!!!!! The only thing that could have been better would have been if they beat those overhyped wussies from Notre Dame!

BSU is in the western something league. No top 25 Opponents all season....even before they beat them. I wish they could play OSU. Takes a trick play 'cause they know they can't go another o.t. LOL BSU haters say play a tougher schedule then talk about being undefeated. If in a REAL conference they would never of played a sorry OU team(as OU teams go) Big 12 and SEC r weak this year. Just look at the facts. BSU will not do it again. It will be some other Cinderella team. REAL teams do it every year. So enjoy this one wait 50 more years for another. By the way if it was a playoff BSU vs. OSU first round? How much would you bet on BSU?

I thought boise state had a great year. Awesome finish in the fiesta bowl as well. I think the broncos will be a great football school in the future. I forgot what was the QBs name in boise state but he reminded me of jim mcmahon with that headband.I heard he was a fifth year senior this year. Im not sure if he will come back but he was good vs oklahoma. I did doubted the broncos early in the season but when they were going to play the sooners, I knew they could pull the upset

I say Boise State plays in a BS conference not a BCS conference. Until they play good teams for the entire season they have no argument. Oklahoma was not that good of a team. Nice victory though, maybe the PAC-10 will pick yall up and you can play at least half-*** competition during the regular season.

Its funny cuz I can now say that boise St. is good for nothing
because they are really good and can compete with anybody
but they will never have the chance to win a NC
which sucks for them and any other small school like that
Imagine, winning a NC could make them a powerhouse

Boise State isn't important or threatening enough to be hated. They're like Luxembourg. Like the other guy said, people were doubters not haters.

I know of no one that "hated" Boise State, you are correct on the doubters part though. What now? They have to do it all over again next year.
