who bash or look down on gays or are there other religions that do too? I for one am a Christian (Lutheran) who is for gay rights & I know there are others like me but I have never seen a Jewish person on here that says it's a sin, maybe I'm wrong but is it only my faith that does the judging?

To farian13 I can't buy that people are afraid of what they don't know I personally can't understand how someone could be attracted to the same sex but they can't understand how I could be attracted to the opposite sex & James- I believe that man wrote the Bible & I myself only answer to God, not something it a book that God didn't write

Why can't we all just love each other without judging.

I know they look down on it the MOST.
But it's not just religiouse, It's also a personal beleif. Some people think it's just morally wrong.
Not saying I agree. My Motto is Live and Let live.
A few of my best friends are gay, and they are also some of my funnest friends to hang out with.
I wish people would look more at the person, and not the life choices. It's your life your choice,
Just because a person is gay doesn't mean they are a bad person. I just wish more people would see it like that.
But just for the record, Wicca does not, we will embrace anyone.
And I do mean ANYONE
Know you Know - you didn't like being generalized so why did you generalize the LGBT by saying you think they hate christains.
HATE is such a strong word and as a christian I thought you would figure God does not have an ounce of hate anywhere inside him, Hate in an emotion straight from hell, so why would a christain use it so loosely?

I'm a Christian, too. I'm simply in favor of Human Rights.....that includes gays. It's not up to me to judge anyone else for their actions, judging is up to God. It's not a "faith" that wrongly judges others. There are people in all faiths who wrongly judge others.
I am not in favor of legislation covering every special interest group on the planet. If you read the Constitution you will find that all citizens are protected under the law and have the same rights and privileges. And if you read the Bible you will find that all believers are protected spiritually.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's only christianity who does any judging, however .... I honestly haven't seen the type of judgements passed down from any other religion like I have from christianity. It's a sad situation when a religion that preaches tolerance and love is the most well known for condemnation, discrimination and hatred.

Most, if not all, monotheistic religions regard homosexuality as sinful. Both Judaism and Islam strongly frown on homosexuality. You can even be put to death in a Muslim country for being caught giving head!! I'm also under the impression that Hinduism forbids homosexuality as well. But then again, there are individuals in each of those religions who are tolerant and respectful of gay people even though they may not necessarily tolerate the "act".

It isn't just the Christians, they just seem to be the most vocal. Contrary to Georgegeewarts LIES about it, many religions don't even mention homosexuality at all.(George dared to try to Quote Wicca tenets as some kind of authority, saddest thing is, having been a Wiccan High Preist I happen to know there is no central book from which such quotes can be obtained. It's simply amazing what depths some will sink to in order to forward their blatant harassment and lies).

I agree that just because God says you cannot have relations with the same sex, doesn't give us as sinners the right to judge. We can't determine how God sees anyone. I'm Christian and have a lot of respect for my gay friends and others who are. I respect people in general, that's how i lead my happy life!

Anybody who uses religion for their own self-serving purposes and agenda, instead of practicing the altruism that various religions ACTUALLY TEACH bashes gays. It's not just people who dare to call themselves "Christians".

Christians do have the biggest problem with it, from a religious standpoint, but various cultures throughout the world have always persecuted gays regardless of the religion. Gays are a minority. They are 'different' than heteros and heteros don't understand them. People ALWAYS hate and fear what is different or what they dont understand. Does this make it clearer?

I can stand a gay person, but the not actions of a gay person. Christians think a gay person should not have sex and fight the temptation and ask God to help with this advanced case of perversion. They wouldn't say anything if they seen you trying to stay on the path to God. But you're not trying are you?

Many other religions are abusive of gay rights as well. It's just they aren't as loud about it. It's very nice to see an open minded Christian on this subject, and you should be congratulated.
