I'm planning a 3 night stay in montreal over a weekend in feb and I wanna know the best places to go, perhaps something nice in the day and something fun and crazy for the nights. Bars, Lounges, Clubs, Hotspots, theater, music, whatever...
..please tell me all, thanx!

In Montreal we speek mostly french and alot english...the city bars and clubs are also ''kinda'' divided like that too...but don't worry if you go in a place where you find mostly francophones you won't be out of place...so not worries about that, but still I will indicate where it is more anglophones and where it is more francophone...
The major streets where you can find nice bars and clubs are:
CRESCENT St. (Downtown) - Very anglo area as it is close to 2 english Universities, the part North of Ste-Catherine (a main street going from east to west) is where you find bars and clubs, the lower part you can find pubs. Look for : FunkyTown ,Newtown , Thursday's, Electric Avenue (80's music), London Pub, Sir Winston Churchill, Brutopia, Hurley's Irish Pub....

ST-LAURENT St. (or ''the Main''): very trendy bars and clubs, very eclectic, french/english...anuthing goes on the Main...
Look for: Gogo Lounge, Bifteck, Central Station, Rouge, Laika, Tokyo Bar...you can walk on St-Laurent Between Sherbooke and Rachel St. and find bars and clubs everywhere...most of the place are very nice...

ST-DENIS St. and MONT-ROYAL St.- These streets are mostly frenchies...but that is because the bar crowd is more local, but don't worry going there...frendly people everywhere! The bars on these streets are more Lounges, relax atmosphere...very nice...
Look for (on St-Denis): St-Sulpice, Le Dogue, Barouf...
Look for (on Mt-Royal): Bily Kün, Edgar Hyper Taverne, Boudoir, Verre Bouteille...

For a different experience, the ''737'' is on top of ''place Ville-Marie'' one of the tallest building downtown, you can spot that building because it has a rotating light on top of it, so you see it from anywhere. the adress is: 1, Place Ville-Marie, suite 4540 and it's right in the middle of downtown.

Ah! there are sooooo many! I hope this helps you...!

Well its a really hard question because there are so many. Its hard to describe Montreal other than to say this, when you get there you will find one in a matter of ten minutes. There are restaurants and bars about every fifteen feet. Unfortunately that is the problem, there are too many choices. If you like 70' & 80's dance music, funky town is the place to be, (its a great dance bar if you are a bit older as well) if you prefer Irish Music then Hurley's is a sure bet. If you like Modern Music then cheers or some club on Crescent or Bishop Street Area is the place to be (more for the younger crowd). Local secret: locals do not go out until after 11 to party so if you go to a bar say at 8 or 9pm it may appear that the bar/club is empty, this might not be true and it will get packed by 11. My advice wait till then, then you will see which clubs are the most popular. IF its empty at that time chances are it will stay that way. Hope that helps.

You would want to stick to the St-Laurent Street clubs/lounges as they tend to cater to somewhat older crowds - at least older then 18-19 and also some very descent crowds.

Crescent street clubs are not bad as well - and if you go, check out the New Town club, which belongs to the Formula 1 racer Jacques Villeneuve.

Club Rouge is the it spot right now, they play good music and the people are more then descent.

During the day, you would want to check out the Biodome, it is quite the Tourist attraction. Stick to down town where all the action is.

Depending on the type of wheatther you will have, during the day, do visit the old port of Montreal, where you will find quite a cultural variety.

Whatever you do, just do - and Enjoy it!

Thursday. it quite is the call of the club, do no longer mistake it with Thursday the day. it incredibly is on Cresent Ave. 3 floor, Disco, Bar, eating place. superb place. and a lot extra around it. Do bar hoping on the comparable highway. If the main charm for you're clubbing and partying around that section the entire time. in case you experience the would desire to examine out yet another section too, attempt the main, between Sherbrook and we could say to 5 - 6 block North.
