Loss of licence for 12 months, possibly less if you go on a special course. Plus a fine (expect at least £200) and costs. No jail term though unless you injured or killed someone.

Yes OK 12 months ban and a heafty fine but to me that's not the point here

You sound as if you feel that you are the one that's hard done by

You broke the law and chose to drive under the influence and that aside you have been lucky, yes very lucky. You only got caught. Luckily you never had an accident, you never injured or killed anyone. You have not left a trail of devastated families behind your stupidity and somehow you sound like you should be called "The Victim" here

You do not deserve to have the privilege of a licence with that attitude and yes I believe it is a privilege and not a right

So I suggest you get your act together and take whatever you are handed out as your punishment and be happy in the knowledge that there is nobody hurting as a result of your actions

In future is you wish to drink and that's perfectly OK with me. LEAVE THE DAMN CAR AT HOME

Depends where you live. 200-300 pounds, probably, (including discount for a guilty plea) with a one year ban plus costs.
Endorsements for drink/drug driving offences remain on the licence for 11 years (they count against you for ten years and then after a further year they can be removed completely from your licence).

I don't believe "drink driving" carrys a sentence.
Drunk driving does on the other hand.

A friend of mine got a DUI and he had his license taken for three months, $2000 in fines, and probation. Changed his outlook on drinking and driving.

Sounds like your just asking a question to me.
Some need to step down off the soap box, no one likes them up there.

Looking at a fine £200-300 and a ban of 12 months but that's the least of it watch out for one hell of a jump in insurance premiums when you get you license back

possibly a 2 year DQ but may be reduced if you can claim it would affect your job (ie if you are a driver you might sway it) and a fine, as a fist offence im guessing about 2/300 quid plus CPS costs (normally 40/50 quid)
