I'm sure most people will scream GLOBAL WARMING GLOBAL WARMING! AH WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE.. WE MESSED UP THE PLANET! ....
Weather patterns change year to year, if we see a trend of 10 or 20 consequtive years of warmer than normal winters... (and can we even define what is normal? Over the last 100 years ? 1000 years? 10 000 years?? Anyone know what winter was like in Michigan in 8320 BC?????)...
Maybe it is global warming... maybe it isn't.. anyone who claims to know for sure is likely a lobbiest for either the green peace side or the oil companies...
From my point of view, I have seen lots of people asking why it is so warm this winter... but not many complaining! We like warm winters! But the same people who where panicing about Y2K and the meteor that will hit the earth.. or whatevere other catastrophy they can dream up are trying to spread panic over global warming. The truth is global warming will be good for some and bad for others... A changing world is nothing new! Those who adapt thrive!

It's a weather pattern called El Nino where there is a warm spot in the Pacific. It tends to divert storms and cold weather. I live in south central NY state and a few weeks ago it was 54 and just the year before it was 2 degrees. It's just an annual variation and not the effects of a catastrophe. Let's see who cries doom when it's minus 2 in Washington in a month.

Please do not post if you are not scholarly about this process. I just want to know why people have not educated themselves on this topic but yet continue to complain that this year is warmer due to global warming, and that hurricane was stronger due to global warming, and that I dont have any snow due to global warming when in fact that if they read about the weather just a little bit they would know that the synoptic scale weather pattern has kept a primarily zonal pattern across the US since early December which his kept most artic air masses bottled up at the poles. ITS NOT GLOBAL WARMING PEOPLE!!! ITS THE WEATHER PATTERN!!! PLEASE DO NOT ASSOCIATE SMALL SCALE EVENTS WITH GLOBAL WARMING, YOU ARE BEING IGNORANT AND MISLEADING PEOPLE. YOU PEOPLE ARE THE TYPE OF PEOPLE THAT ARE IN THE GORVERNMENT. THE ONES WHO DO NOT LISTEN!!! EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE SAYING OHH IT MUST BE GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are experiencing warmer weather during the winter because of global warming. The earth is warming up due to carbon dioxide and other gas emissions. Our atmosphere is holding those gases in (known as the "greenhouse effect") and, thus, the weather is becoming warmer.
