Good question. See, the vast majority of working people in the U.S. are actually doing OK. Where we have a real problem is that so many Americans think they're entitled to everything they want and need -- you know; a college education, health care, brand new SUV, plasma TV, iPod video, etc. -- for no other reason than the fact that they are Americans. That's a load of crap. What ever happened to working hard and EARNING what you want and need? Sure, people complain that you can't live on minimum wage in this country -- well, then I guess that means you either (a) get an education or develop some job skills that will make you eligible for jobs that pay better, or (b) scrape by on that minimum wage salary and stop blaming everyone or everything else for your problems. Also, what ever happened to living within your means? Sure, I could live in a nicer house with brand new furniture and a brand new plasma TV with two brand new SUVs in the garage, but I'd be up to my eyeballs in debt. As a result, I live in a smaller house in a not-so-posh neighborhood with one newer SUV and an aging American sedan in the garage, with no plasma TV. That's life. That's reality. Finally, what is it with these people who expect the government to do everything for them? Don't people realize that every time we hand a problem to the government and say "Here, fix this" we're handing over a little piece of our freedom and giving the government just a little more power over the private citizen? Keep that up and the U.S. will end up being the new U.S.S.R. -- by the way, that's EXACTLY what the liberals want, so don't buy their hypocritical clap-trap -- a vote for a Democrat is a vote to let the government take over and run your lives (yes, Big Brother is watching and so is Big Sister -- Big Brother is John Edwards and Big Sister is Hillary Rodham Clinton).

Are you kidding me? If your working your lucky if your not on the receiving end of a cut back, downsize, layoff, bonus cut, over work, under pay, stolen identity, frivolous lawsuit, pension cut, coverage drop, taxed to the poor house.Look at NAFTA ,CAFTA All these organizations that have been deflating our country like a balloon and the only consolation prize we get is raising the minimum up a couple a bucks, while the big CEO's get million dollar bonus.God bless those that have benefited in other countries by moving up from living on dirt streets to their over worked slave-jobs making enough to eat. They certainly could be doing better if their governments demanded it Where's the tariffs? Where do you think the taxes have gone these companies don't pay here, shipping back the products they had made somewhere else? They aren't subject to EPA standards.Walmart may have lower prices, but now we practically can't survive without it. We have Unions for a reason. For the rights of the worker and they have been losing ground ever since this debacle started.(We got to stop sending our taxes to Iraq and start giving back to the organizations that it was originally intended for)America has been capable of pressing on in the past re inventing herself. This is my hope for our future. OH Yeah ,I had a job making 17.86 an hour I got laid off And when I dragged my tail back to my Mothers house and tried to get a job similar A spanish accented speaken guy told me the pay was 5 BUCKS an hour! And You tell me I gotta go back to school?

A family of four making $20,000 or less is considered poor. How can the government be blamed is a good question. People just don't want to take responsibility for their own actions, they expect that the government should help them out with a handout.
There is nothing in the constitution saying if you fall below the poverty guidelines all you have to do is call you local government and they will send you a check.

12 years if legislation aimed at undermining the ability to form unions. 12 years of Trade policies that eliminated most of the tariffs on foreign goods which made it easier to move a business elsewhere to avoid the taxation and exploit the labor laws and pollution standards. By letting the Big Corporations use their campaign contributions to bribe our Congess men and women into writing laws that are decidedly slanted towards their ability to make money. The revocation of the Sherman Anti-trust laws. The repealing of the Davis-Bacon Act after Katrina in order to fascilitate the hiring of illegals to do the reconstruction/demolition work for minimum wage.
Crap like that

Their mortgage, car payment, car insurance, electric & gas bills, car registration, car inspection, car fuel, car maintenance, child care, health maintenance, prescription drugs, phone, cable, and internet and of course student loans.......
I believe the government taxes all these things or makes major decisions that require the taxpayer to keep coming up with more money on their minimum wage jobs.....oh yea, lets not forget how they've let a million jobs transfer to other countries...any more questions?

Failure to provide adequate education for all. Allowing companies to pay people below a living wage (despite providing themselves with significant yearly pay raises). Failure to provide basic services (like health care) that people must then pay for themselves. Promotion of a hyper-consumerist mentality that tells people they are what they own (and thus drives the poorest classes to overspend relative to their incomes). Continued focus on the importance of the military-industrialist complex (e.g., Haliburton) that requires the spending of vast money on wars and requires the continued existence of a lower class to fight those wars (i.e., to test and use up the latest military toys, thus benefiting the military providers). And a host of minor things (failure to support an affordable public transportation system, not adequately regulating public utilites, not providing open access to technology, etc.).

If you were to remove 50% of all taxes from our backs the number of working poor would be 10% of what they are now. And guess what, the majority of those taxes were thought up to help the working poor. Another fine product of the liberal mind, tax people into poverty!

at the start, conservatives at the instant are not racist; yet now and back they do permit race play an element in politics. even nonetheless, racists do not make a majority of the Republican celebration. yet, the clarification why we conservatives are against the belief of socializing well being safeguard the finished U.S. it truly is a ludicrous concept, pernicious to the finished difficult artwork human beings have positioned to learn their money, their homestead, and their placement in society. united statesa. replaced into based on the belief of the "laissez-faire" and all of us comprehend what this is: the government conserving their damn palms of our money human beings have worked earnestly for the so noted as stable of all society. Conservatives like that concept. no person needs to furnish their money to a pair fool who did not do stable at college or is obviously unable to evolve to the demands of the international, and then, not be waiting to place money into greater efficient issues; issues which would be beneficial to their families, churches, communities, and so on. Katrina wasn't Bush's fault, it replaced into the undesirable people who have been laid low with it. human beings laid low with Katrina have been normally low-earnings people who Bush, does not desire to spend the government's money on. Say if Katrina exceeded off in ny, it could be an fullyyt distinct tale -- in all probability the single you liberals might desire to take heed to. human beings come to united statesa. to compete to get as wealthy as they are able to get. whilst they discover out that their multimillion greenback employer money are going to someplace, the place they're going to by no ability see it back, and could help somebody who they have no concept who they're, then they are going to get annoyed; to that end, the conservatives. think of approximately this: no person needs to furnish their difficult earned funds away.

taxes are too high.....self-employed people can expect to pay anywhere from 30%-60% of every dollar made...so figure if its 60% then of every dollar earned they only get to keep 40 cents to live on....also minimum wage keeps getting raised but who does that help?...not me! i havent seen minimum wage in years so it doesnt have an effect on my standard of living except that the cost of a hamburger will go up when my earnings didnt....all wages should be increased due to inflation and cost of living increases however it is not mandatory...and i'll tell you something else too...i received an email today of an article put in an open forum in a newspaper and it basically said that if i have to take a pee test to earn money then why dont welfare recipients have to take one to get it for free?!.....welfare recipients dont be offended...if you are not guilty then you wont mind
