I have read all over the place about birth plans. This may sound stupid but, what is a birth plan? Like what does that mean? I'm only 30 weeks and yes, I am starting to pack for the hospital.. well, I will very very soon but, other than that. People are saying to include the birthing plan. I need some help! Thanks!

Hey there Mommy to be! I am to 30 weeks and from what i understand a birth plan is a plan you make about how you are going to have your little one at the hospital. Epidural? Natural? Are you going to use certain iv drugs? Things like that .....Just to be more prepared before the big day and so that your doctor knows and your partner too. My birth plans are 1:When i go into labor have grandparents pick up my 5 year old 2:Get to the hospital and get checked in and dressed in my gown.3:Wait for my IV.4:if i get induced i will want them to break my water if not induced then let the good times start.5:Natural birth for me. Well i sure hope this will help you just plan out what you want done before and after you get to the hospital. Congrats!!!

a birth plan is how you want to give birth weither it be vagina or c section natural or on drugs or even a water birth. This will sound funny but with my son I did it natural and I had my husband tie a long sheet on to the beam that was above us because our hospital looked like a cottage. I used the sheet to pull myself up and I gave birth to my son in the half standing half sitting position.

Your list of wishes for the birth and things you'd like to be able to avoid. You should discuss it with your caregiver ahead of time and have a copy put in your file.
