Why did the radio stations and the stores cut off the nasty guitar solos on Tommy James and the Shondells: Crimson and Clover? I thought that it was the best part of the song and that is the only reason why I like the song, the single edit is average at best but the long version is really good, I much prefer the long version over the single version.

It's a very easy answer: time. I'll never forget the first time I heard the album version of the Doors' Light My Fire...wow! It all comes down to how much time to allow for music and how much for commercials.

And, hey, just be thankful that you can still listen to a radio station that plays that type of music. With today's big corporate radio giants thinking that Oldies Radio isn't worth playing...they don't think we don't spend enough money on the junk that their advertisers think a younger audience will buy...most Oldies Stations are disappearing. Atlanta is down to one small station called Sunny 100 on the upper northwest fringe of the metro area...thank God I live near it!

Well, where I live, there is crimson clover. It is twice the size of a regular clover and crimson. Maybe that is what he meant, but he may have been having an attack of some kind.
