ive just noticed this , was looking to by a watch and was looking through home shopping catalogues and sales brochers and 99% of the watches featured are showing the above 2 times

why is this ? some kinda watchmakers law!

have noticed this on analogue watches mainly, but some digital

it shows the watch "smilling" (was taught that by seiko in the 70s)

I think this is something to do with the clock showing a smiling face to encourage consumers to take a closer look. A happy consumer is more likely to buy a product than someone who's not happy.

because at those times you can see the brand name of the watch as well as other nice features on the face of the watch

i guess it allows you to see the entire face with both hands showing.....dont know...i like the seiko answerer best.....the number one answerer sucks!
