Same goes for bed time.
My baby's 8 months old. From the day she was born, she didn't require any special "method" do fall asleep, she'd pretty much just fall asleep in my arms (or my husband's) and I'd put her in her crib. At 2 months of age, she would let me hold her til she'd start gettting drowsy, and then when she'd close her eyes, I'd put her down, and no problems. About 3 months ago, though, she started to change, she'd just let me hold her for a little while, and then she'd start wiggling and turning, trying to get out of my arms... She just wants me to put her in her crib and leave her alone, and she'll fall asleep! I feel a bit ... unwanted... Is it normal for her to do this? Or is she upset with me?...

Thanks very much!

I am a mother of five and I can tell you from much experience with babies that your little one is not upset with you in any way. Babies, just like grown-ups, go through phases. This may be just a phase for her, or it could be her personality developing more. I understand that her needing your cuddling less can be hurtful but it does not mean she doesn't love you or isn't attatched to you. Try not to take her actions too hard. My four year old was that way as a baby and we have a great relationship!

yes, i child does the same thing and she is 5 months old. she really doesnt like to be held at all. she would rather you lay her down on the couch facing the tv and fall asleep. my husband says she gets it form me. think of it a a blessing, because i have friends who cant get there kids to bed without holding them or rocking them for hours. i sometimes feel like you to i just want to hold her and love on her but if she goes to sleep on her own and stay asleep its a good thing.and look at it this way if you and your husband if you ever want to go out at night you dont have to worry about her not being able to go to sleep. dont beat yourself about it. your child loves you very much no worries.

I can't believe you are complaining about this. be grateful that your baby sleeps so easily and independently, believe me, it's a good thing. Stop whining about a good thing, you're lucky. There are many chances to cuddle when she's awake.
