India has the potential to become a super power. India has to maintain and increase the economic growth to become an economic power. There must be a political will to become a super power. India should play an assertive role in the political arena. Militarily, India has to improve leaps and bounds. Most of its military is just cannon fodder for the sophisticated weapons of developed countries. Its only strength in this field is nuclear weapons.
You have to be strong if you want to be counted and respected. For a nation, it has to be strong in economic-political-military spheres to be respected.
And India shows all signs of becoming a super power. It has one of the best economic growth rate, assertive political parties and growing military strength.
High population growth rate, terrorism, regionalism are a few factors which might hamper its ambition to become a super power.
The next decade will give a definite answer in this regard.
