my dad took the key to my bedroom :( thats my only key!

how do i get him to give it back to me? i hate the thought of him being able to go into my room at any time.

he says that it is because my dog locks my bedroom door, and he needs the key so he can take the dog out for a walk.

i dont have anything to hide in my bedroom i just hate the thought of my parents going through my bedroom.

how do i get him to give it back???

be really nice and sweet to him, then steal it while he's sleeping!

Ok here, you have nothing to hide, the dog locks the door, I don't think it's unreasonable for your Dad to do that, going thru what things? Just lock all your things up in a locker in your bedroom, lock that locker with a key that you purchase. Just tell your Dad you just want a private place for your personnel things. Hey it's your Dad!

You don't. Be greatful that you have a lock on your door. At that, one with a key. If it's that important to you, let your dad make a copy of the key. If you don't have anything to hide, why is it such a big deal? If you're that secretive about your things, then obviously you have something to hide.

By the way, we weren't allowed to have locks on our bedroom doors when I was growing up. If the door was closed, then we respected each other's privacy. Maybe learn to TRUST and RESPECT your parents, then maybe they will learn to TRUST and RESPECT you

If you have the money, and he will let you, go to home depot and buy a new lock, one that the dog can't lock.Or but a child safty door knob, they are plastic and slip over the door knob so that the child can not unlock or open the door at all.Good luck!

if you don't have anything to hide then why worry???

why do you have a key to your room in the first place? your parents should have the key because it's their house. your room is really THEIR room because it's in THEIR house.
sorry, but when I was your age that's what my dad would say to me if he came in my room when I didn't want him too.

be glad you have a lock on your door for starters. in my parents house, none of the bedrooms except the master had locks.

anyway, just try to keep your dog out of your room then. when I was a teen my mom would never let me shut my door at night because we had 2 cats and unfortunatly BOTH of them just had to lay in my room every night. one under bed and one on bed. made me mad but I got over it after a while.

Good Luck though!

I can't believe you have a key to your room. It's your parent's right to have the key, though... They pay the bills...

If you are concerned about him snooping, don't give him anything to find and you will be OK.

YOUR IN YOUR FOLKS HOUSE, THEY SHOULD HAVE A KEY FOR EMERGENCY'S. NEVER HEARD OF A KEY LOCK ON A BEDROOM DOOR BEFORE. GOOD FOR DAD. HE CARES ABOUT YOU.

I wouldn't worry about them going in your room at anytime...especially if you have nothing to hide. You're a kid, and you live with their rules. My bedrom never even had locks on it, so just let it go.

Kick him in the balls, then smash his head in the bedroom door, then take the keys. MUCH MORE FUN!

Watever you do, DONT make a big scene, that will make him suspicious, triggering a room search.
