How do I remove the shifter for an automatic trans in a gmc jimmy?

The top part with the button doesn't seem to have any way to remove it. I found a small indent on the other side, but I can pull all day and get nowhere with or without holding the button and pressing the indent.

There is a pin on the bottom where it connects to the steering column. You have to knock it out. The stick outta come right off. Hope this helps
