I just checked the information on this drug by Pfizer (Tetrahydrozoline HCL). If ingested it can cause depression of the nervous system and breathing difficulty, and stomach irritation like vomiting. It can even cause seizures or coma (leading to permanent brain damage) or death in high enough dosages.
No, it's not like a simple sedative that puts one to sleep. It's rather a fairly potent poison that can cause very serious damage to someone.
A tiny amount of this chemical will be absorbed into the system when you put Visine into your eyes, but not enough to cause problems. Similarly, it's likely that 2 little drops ingested wouldn't cause noticeable problems, but just 1/4 of one of those tiny bottles (which would be I don't know how many drops) according to what I just read can cause significant poisoning.
If you do something like this, keep in mind that you can be charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm, battery, or other serious offenses and spend a significant amount of time in prison.
BTW, some people mentioned diarrhea as a consequence, but this isn't listed on the symptoms of poisoning for this chemical. Rather it appears that it is absorbed directly through the stomach and causes stomach irritation and possibly vomiting.

Visine in someone's drink is very dangerous. If by sleep, you mean coma or death, then yes. The main ingredient is Tetrahydrozoline HCL, and when ingested may cause breathing problems, lowering of body temperature, blurring vision, nausea/vomiting, elevate then lower blood pressure, seizures/traumas, and may even send the person ingesting it into a coma. Don't do it!

terrific you may desire for is diarrhea. in the anatomy of a individual, their eyes, nostril, ears and throat are related in the back of your nostril and every time you utilize eye drops, extra is lost down the throat and swallowed so everybody who has used Visine has swallowed it earlier. direction now in case you have been to apply a lot of it,there could be a ton of issues which could happen. . . . a number of which has been responded with.

I've heard of that too. A friend told me that it could actually kill someone. So i would think twice before trying it to one of your local friends.

It will not put them to sleep. It will, however, either make them sick or give them the runs.
