If you have the complexion of coffee with cream then your skin is yellow based and you probably would look best in warm colors: browns, rust, burgundy
If your complexion is reddish brown, then you would look best in "cool" colors..pink, purple, sliver, blue..etc..
It's easy to determine.
Think about your favorite colors of clothes that look good on you.
Do you wear beige and browns? then your warm
Do you wear bright colors? purple pink aqua? then your cool
If you look EQUALLY good in both...your neutral and the world is your palette!

I would suggest that you can try any color that's not lighter than your skin color. You can play around with dark colors as well because it'll stand out against your skin. Good brands I would recommend are MAC, Nars, Chanel, Rimmel, and L'Oreal all have creamy lipsticks. So go to a department store and test the different brands.

My DD is biracial too and her skin is golden mocha. She wears a nude or light bronze lipgloss. Dark colors do not suit her, nor do pinks or reds, as she has warm undertones.

There's a lipstick by Cover Girl that is really pretty and suits most complexions. It's called "Cutie." It's a light bronzy pink. Maybe you could try that.

if you pull your bottom lip out and look at the color of the inside, that will tell you what color you should get. the color of the inside of your lip is the right shade for you. It is actually a different color than your lips so it will work.
I know it sounds weird but I have heard it from a lot of people.
