Yeah. About one in three people are killed by falling meteors and the rest and left sickened at the futility of it all. Keep your 'ed down.

Looking at the Sun is dangerous, especially if you are doing this through a telescope or through binoculars.
However, no one says that is dangerous to look at the night sky. Of course, if you believe in astrology it might bring you some bad luck, maybe some health problems or something, but otherwise it's ok. Or a meteorite might suddenly fall from the sky exactly on you, and this just because you looked above you.
Okay, no I'm making fun here, but the question is absurd. Not only that is not dangerous, but it's giving you a wonderful sight. Try it yourself! ;-)

There is absolutely no danger to the eyes at all either looking at the sky or the stars etc.
The only problems are 1. if one already has a bad neck, the backward stretching of the neck muscles and of the vertebral column may worsen the condition and causes awful nerve root pain. 2. If a person has a sensitive inner ear or disease of the semicircular canals(in the inner ear) eg. in Meniere's disease, a sudden backward movement of the head may give rise to frightening dizziness and vertigo and may cause the person to fall or even to vomit.
Please check cervical spondylitis and Meniere's disease on the internet for in depth informations.

No! Looking up at the night sky is not, in itself, dangerous.

1. Don't look directly at the sun, and be very careful when looking at it indirectly too.
2. Depending on the light-gathering power of your telescope, you may need a filter when viewing the moon.
3. Don't look up at the sky through your car's sun roof when driving. Pay attention to the road and traffic.

Course not, its the most beautiful canvas ever created. In a way It certainly opens your mind to things but thats much better than having a closed one. Never did old Patrick Moore any harm.
Go enjoy the stars!

Only if you look directly at a star, such as the Sun.
Other than that, perfectly safe, though I do advise a good telescope with a well-made lens and filter.

Interesting how many people are telling you not to look at the sun - at NIGHT! Interesting concept. I would like to know who 'they' are, as well. No one I have ever heard from.

I would say no. I would also like to know who "they" are who say that this is dangerous. If "they" are some kind of educators, "they" should be fired.
