Even if you get married on 12/31/06, you must file as married for the whole year. You could try and hope you don't get audited!

You can file married filing a seperate return if you were not married for more than a certain amount of months in 2006. Consult your local IRS office for more info.

Yes you can still file single, due to the fact that before November - the majority of the year, you were actually single. But next you do have to file joint/married.
