Igor Stravinsky, who made bold statements while ushering in orchestral/classical jazz. i guess it would really be symphonic jazz...that's a fair assessment. Bach, Beethoven "the father", Bizet, and Ravel are always prominent, in my mind, on such a list! Great question!
