American children and communities need assistance and awareness of their plight here, and America is the country that employs and pays these people.

what makes you think they dont?.....because the media doesnt cover it?....using the media to base your opinions on groups of people is a sure fire way to make yourself miserable

I've asked myself the same question. While other countries do need help and we should help them, there are many local children and communities that need assistance and a large percentage of the population live below the poverty level. I'm sure that celebrities do donate and support local causes but it seems like the work they do overseas gets more attention. Has providing aid to the local communities become less important? It sometimes seems like it has.

1.) Because America isn't a poor country. Many other countries are poorer than the poorest person in the USA.
2.) Some of those other countries have AIDS and other diseases running wild. The USA has people with AIDS, but we have treatments, and some of those people there with those diseases have none = less time to live, etc.
3.) Orphanages here are in pretty good condition.

Actually, there are not a lot of American babies that are available for adoption. Older kids and foster kids, but not babies. In addition, legally it is much trickier, given the legal system and the rights that biological parents have to appeal. That's one reason some are just going overseas. Unfortunately, some countries are being exploited as little more than baby farms now.

I have often wondered the same thing. The only reasons I can think of is that for one thing, it is much more high profile to adopt a foreign child and we all know celebrities are mostly attention w.hores. Secondly, I think that many of them see it that orphanages in other countries have children starving to death and dying of horrible diseases, whereas the average North American orphanage doesn't have such bad conditions, at least as far as I know.

cuz like Angelina and Brad only do places not here they r kind and stuff 4 donating to Africa but they should help their country plus tehy suck!!

They help here too, but we dont need as much help these other counteries do.
