The original question was: Why do liberals point their fingers and blame Bush for the war in Iraq, but yet, they fail to mention the fact that the most infamous conflict the U.S. was ever involved in-Vietnam-was initiated by John F. Kennedy and perpetuated by Lyndon Johnson, who both happened to be Democrats? Isn't it funny how liberals try to claim Gerald Ford lost the Vietnam conflict, but it was the Democrat controlled congress that ultimately cut the funding for the war, forcing us to pull out?

Oh, and the Monroe doctrine is not a good answer, either.

Isn't it also funny how the liberals keep bringing up the loss of 3000 troops when by this timeframe in Vietnam, the number of deaths was considerably higher?

Yes, Yahoo Answers is run by liberals, as most media forums are. They do have a bias. Liberals gang up together, and report abuses not committed against anyone Republican, or Conservative. It has happened to me, and to others I know, and some have lost their accounts of over 6 years.
It is also ridiculous how liberals complain about the war in Iraq, and especially how the liberal Lyndon B. Johnson started Vietnam out of greed. Lady Bird Johnson, his wife owned 1/3 of Brown and Root stocks, and they made unnecessary brand new uniforms, and other devices for the soldier's which were not needed. My husband was an enlisted soldier, at the age of 17, then, so he knew. LBJ and his wife made MILLIONS of dollars while 17 year old's and up died so he could. (all but 2 out of 15, of my husband's friends died in Vietnam, by the way.)
America is doing an excellent job in Iraq, and the Iraqi people are thanking us for our tremendous help, and courage. The liberals can stick it with their lies, and live with their own shame. I, and the rest of us American's who LOVE our country, instead of foolishly hating her, are not a part of them. God Bless America, and her mighty soldier's. Our GOOD soldiers have more honor in their pinky, than liberals like LBJ, or Clinton pretended to have in their whole lives, combined. A sweet, gentle kiss to all of America's beloved, brave soldier's from me to them.

The system was down a couple of hours ago. Many people asked questions which didn't appear. It was a non partisan software failure.

"the most infamous conflict the U.S. was ever involved in-Vietnam-was initiated by John F. Kennedy and perpetuated by Lyndon Johnson, who both happened to be Democrats"

True. Then how can the Republicans get away with portraying the Democrats as appeasers and pacifists when they so zealously fought communists who were intent on world domination.

If "point their fingers" means enlightening the public to the fact as to who is responsible for the fiasco in Iraq, then the Democrats willingly plead guilty. As to JFK and LBJ initiating and perpetuating the war in Vietnam, "Ike" sent in the first troops. You remember him, don't you? He was a Republican, one of the few good ones. No liberal I have heard of has ever blamed Ford for losing the Vietnam conflict. at least not any of national renown.

Why shouldn't the liberals bring up the cost of the war in Iraq in both troop casualties and the hundreds of thousands of civilian casualties plus the cost to our treasury? You sound as though you're disappointed that there aren't more deaths and I don't think that is funny.

Earth to WEIRDO

you are making no points.

Events need to be taken in context. And you my strange friend are taking them out of context.

Liberals have no political representation, they choose the lesser of two evils.

Do you think all those people who protested the Vietnam war were conservatives? With their hippy clothes, long hair, and good drugs?

I don't think so.

As for your John F Kennedy and Vietnam, do you forget that it was his liberal side that saved us from Nuclear Holocaust during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Please, if you are gonna make statements include ALL facts, not just the ones you like.

Well the reason is because that was over THIRTY YEARS AGO!-and this is NOW! Jeez you would think that would be apparent by now-This "Independent Liberal" will continue to voice my opinion and try to do whatever my friends and I can do to make sure this does not turn into a repeat of the Vietnam War-BTW I could care less if the politicians are Democrat or Republican as long as they are smart enough and have enough common sense to run our country and not ruin our country-Thank you

i desire to preface my answer by skill of pointing out that i'm a Democrat. Gerald Ford grew to become right into a lots extra constructive president by skill of leaps and barriers! George W. Bush is probable the worst president this u . s . has ever had.

They blame Bush for Iraq because he started the war. The Iraq war is something we can change, to prevent the death toll from reaching Vietnam proportions. Your question is absurd.

No...I would be considered a "Lib" and I asked two questions about Bush this morning and neither of them appeared. However I did get one smart answer from some person named
"abdulnono"

You're doing a great job of continuing the unnecessary partisanship.

Liberals, conservatives, democrats, republicans - whoever it is does not matter. It's not a zero-sum game. You need to chill out with the name calling.

Ok, so because one idiot got a bunch of people killed, it is ok to let another idiot get a bunch of people killed. If you don't like a war, it shouldn't matter who started it.
