the only way to lose it and keep it off is to understand why you put it on in the first place.
after that you need to make changes in your lifestyle forever! (sorry,but that's how it works!) to get it off and keep it off.
The two most humane and reasonable ($$-wise) that work for a life time are www.radiantrecovery.com and it's free;
or read the book the Portion Teller, which you can check out of the library also for free.
and exercise a reasonable amount, like walking, also free! 3-4 times a week for 20 minutes. You can do more later, just start! the best way is to put on walking shoes, look at your watch and walk out the front door, walk 10 minutes anywhere you like and then turn around and go back home. Very easy!
and don't dream of being a size 4 or those mini sizes.
I once got down to size 4, after my brother died in a car accident, I was so depressed I couldn't hardly eat for a couple of months and I'm usually a size 8. I didn't look so good! Miss Refugee Camp Surivivor!
Remember, Marilyn Monroe was a size 14!!!
And love yourself the way you are--G-d doesn't make any mistakes!
hugs to you

The best method differs for each person. But the only constant is that your output has to be more than your input.
What is easier for you? To scale back portions or to exercise more? A combination of both is usually most beneficial. But remember each person is different and our bodies react differently. I get antsy when I don't work out...But i also like to eat alot of sugar..so I know that doubling up my exercise routine is probably going to be my best bet for weight loss. Because if i tried to ban sugar candy from my diet I'd probably go alittle crazy.
Restricting calories is vasty different than restricting foods. Don't fall for fad diets that tell you to cut out a certain food group--yes, you might lose a couple pounds in the shortrun, but would you really be able to go 3 years without a piece of bread? or even a year?
Remember that one pound is 3,500 calories.
And also, fasts can be healthy--but not a healthy way to lose weight. They are healthy for the purpose of detox. if you fast to lose weight you are bound to slow down your metabolism, so it would actually be harder to lose weight.

Calorie in must be less than calories out. You have to exercise. You can eat almost whatever you want if you exercise. Eating healthy foods, with good carbs and lean protein is best of course. But exercise lets you eat normally and still lose weight. Diet pills all have side effects, fad diets just bite you after the fact.
