Let the parents know, then stay out of it. It's the parents' responsibility to manage their child care providers. Don't become more involved than you have to.

They should be appreciative that they have a good neighbor looking out for them!

I'd tell the parents of the children and talk with them about contacting the sitter's parents (if the sitter is under age). This is dangerous for the kids, as well as for the sitter.

If the sitter is of legal age, contact the sitter directly. If the sitter is part of a service, consider contacting the service. Drugs have no place around children.

I support a person's right to smoke pot all they want in the privacy of their own home (or car, as long as they're not driving, and will not be driving anytime soon). But when you smoke around other people, especially children, who do not want that **** in their lungs, that's just wrong. Just like cigarette smoke, pot smoke gets everywhere, and even if the kids are in another room, they will still inhale some. Your neighbor needs to set clear rules that there will be no smoking OF ANY KIND in his house.

Nothing. There is nothing remotely endangering about it. I'm really quite shocked to see how many narcs exist in this world. Quite sad!

Would all you people do the same thing if the babysitter were having a glass of wine? Why the double-standard? Alcohol is far more destructive than weed!!

Firstly, I would tell the parents with evidence along with it! After that it's the parents responsibility to call the police or not.

You better do this fast! 'Pot' smoke is dangerous to the kids health as well as the whole family living in the house!

I would advise the parents and if you were not comfortable doing this for whatever reason contact Children's Protective Services. I wouldn't feel guilty either since you are protecting the safety of children and if you didn't and something were to happen you would never be able to forgive yourself. You can do this anonymously just make sure that you write down the time and dates so that they have something tangible to work with when speaking to the parents.

Confront the sitter first. Tell the sitter to talk to the parents. Find out if the sitter talked to the parents then talk to the parents yourself if they had not talked to her about the issue.

Nothing, the kids are asleep, the sitter isn't hurting anything, it's none of my business, so why would I do ANYTHING? You people act like it's something horrible and it isn't! Most municipalities only write a ticket for it anyway. She is NOT ENDANGERING ANYONE ESPECIALLY THE CHILDREN THEY ARE IN BED SLEEPING. It should be legal anyway!

Tell the parents so they know not to use that baby sitter again.
