Well I have been struggling with the same question for a couple of days but it was actually should I start smoking again after 2 days (it's 3 now but I haven't questioned it yet today) and I decided that since I had all this time under my belt I didn't want to mess it up. So if You've gone 19 years I think you should think of it that way!!

Gee, if you had a reason to quit drinking 19 years ago and were able to continue not drinking all those years, NO I don't think you should begin again. If you were an alcoholic 19 years ago, when you take your 1st drink even after all those years, you will crave alcohol more than you did when you quit and your body will need more than you drank before.
I think it's very admirable that you were able to withstand peer pressure for all those years and not drink. Please continue, I'm sure you will like yourself better.

Get realistic, you've been sober for 19 years, why in God's name should you start drinking now!? It looks cool when you see people drinking but it won't look as cool as you think when everything you restored in your body for 19 years is damaged.

I congratulate you for being on the wagon that long, but why on earth would you want to start drinking again? If you're a recovering alcoholic, did you know that even though your condition can go into long-term remission as long as you stay off the sauce, it's incurable? In other words, just one drink can start you on that road to perdition once again. You've done a marvelous job of staying sober, so please, for yourself and loved ones, and even strangers like me -- stay that way. I care!

You must be stressed or unhappy right now, makes changes in a positive direction, as impossible as things may seem right now you never know what waits around the corner for you unless you've been sentence to prison or death. Things always seem worse in winter no sun shine is depressing.

I wouldn't. I haven't drank for probably 14 years, and have no intention of ever again.

I wouldn't.
Drinking isn't all that fun anyway. I'm happier and l look better and younger when i don't drink. So, don't drink, and live your life happily.
