You can start at any amount. It depends on the number of players in your league and the number of players you are drafting.

You want to keep the values as whole numbers and not get into the dollars and cents.

Generally somewhere around $300 is a good amount. You can go higher, but it just leads to higher prices paid for the lower level players.

Whatever amount you do use, divide that amount by the number of players you must draft to get the average player dollar value. You can spend over that for several players, but keep $1 saved for each person so you can round out your roster with the $1 players at the end.
