I`s just so straing that it`s on for California,and off for me but when it`s on for me it`s off for southern Californa.

It's not. Southern Cal never gets the humidity that the Carolinas do and rarely does it see a thunderstorm. San Diego has never experienced a hurricane either.

Well, they ARE both close to an ocean; and at about the same latitude...

But the weather is very different.

The oceans and their winds have something to do with this.

SC gets hurricanes because of the winds driving storms across the Atlantic from East to West.

Cal's never had a hurricane (yes, it would have been called a typhoon).

SC is very humid in summer and has more rainfall than Cal. Drier air, nearby deserts make Cal much less humid.
