Why does the bruise on Dragon's arm hurt when she pokes at it? How can she make it stop hurting when she pokes at it?

Bruises are supposed to hurt. It's their job. It's to keep Dragon from poking where she's already whacked herself. Try licking it a bunch. That usually helps Cat.

The bruise is the result of hemmorhaging capillaries, and the leaking blood pooling under the skin is exerting pressure on the pain receptors (nerves.) Also direct insult to the nerves which was sustained during the injury has left the nerves inflamed.
Further trauma (poking) will only lead to additional pain.
Cold compresses will ease some of the swelling, and your body will take care of it by absorbing the blood or exfoliating the area in the case of a blood blister such as one gets following a right good thwack on the thumbnail with the hammer.
