I guess the movie you are looking for is : "Eternal sunshine of a spotless mind"

Plot: A couple (Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet) undergo a procedure to erase each other from their memories when their relationship turns sour, but it is only through the process of loss that they discover what they had to begin with.

Now not to spoil the ending for you, it is the most beautiful movie I have ever seen. If you think this is the movie you were looking for, then don't wait ... go ahead and watch it and if you were talking about a different movie.... even then don't wait.

ummm maybe eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! orrrrr.... there is a SMALLVILLE episode where clark tells lana his secret and proposes in the fortress of solitude...but then she ends up dying in a car accident, and jar -el says he was gonna kill someone clark loves, but clark goes back in time to save her and not tell her the secret... so shes okay, but thats why jar -el takes away jonathan kent... thats what that made me think of right off....hopefully this helps!
