I know now to mix the detergent with water first...

At any rate, I've tried rinsing, rinsing with oxy-clean, and pretreating with some german laundry soap + rinsing.

Any other ideas?

WHEN THIS HAPPENED TO ME I HAD TO WASH THEM OVER AND OVER AND OVER... THE COLOR FROM THE TIDE EVENTUALLY GOES AWAY BUT NOT TOTALLY... TIDE SMELLS GOOD BUT THAT SUCKS ABOUT IT...

I don't understand.... I've been dumping liquid Tide directly onto my clothes without any water for years and years, and have never had any discoloration. I even use it as a pretreater for stains, still no discoloration.

Maybe your clothes weren't colorfast at all, and getting detergent on them soaked out the dye, in which case, there's no way to fix them, unless you can get some RIT and dye them again.

If your using cold water tide, try running a load with hot water instead but still use the cold water detergent. Worked for me.

You can also use less soap to avoid it from happening again. I would suggest though that you complain to the makers of Tide - hey you might get some coupons or something.

You can try washing them again and again, but I've had the same thing happen to me with some softener. Finally I had to just throw them away. Also if you're pants happen to be white (doubtful) you can bleach the crap out of them and see what you get.

just wash them. If you put them in the dryer already though, you are screwed. The stain is stuck! Maybe try a drycleaners?
