We are trying to get pregnant. I was supposed to start my period on Dec 30th, but I didn't. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. On Jan 2nd, I spotted a little bit until about noon and then the bleeding stopped. My cycles are very regular, so I'm not sure what this means.

go and see a dr - they can test you more accurately than the home-testing kits. If you are pregnant when u go and see the dr you'll be in the right place, if you aren't you can discuss other possible causes.

Take another pregnancy test. When I was trying to get pregnant with my second daughter, I thought I was pregnant so I took one. It came back negative. I tried it the next day out of curiosity, and it came back positive! I think it might have to do with the hormones excreted by the baby. Good Luck!

if you period doesn't start properly in the next few days then take another test. If it's still negative you may still want to see the doctor in case there is another problem, if it's positive definitely see a doctor.

I would test again. If it is still negative I would give the Dr a call and see what they think I should do.
