It was too good for him.
When they got done, they should have fed his body to the hogs.

I agree, America's entire involvement in Iraq has been, uncomfortably, revealing.
I believe Saddam Hussein should have faced charges for everything he did. He was not charged for using chemical weapons on the Kurdish population. He was not charged for the post-Gulf War murders of the Shia who were encouraged to rebel. He was convicted of the murders of approximately 150 Shia in 1982.
The trial should have examined and exposed his entire dictatorship. The fact that it did not is a major cause of outrage for the Iraqi people, in particular. An opportunity for the world to fully face the evil that men are capable of was lost; for some, but not for all.

i think it ws the best solution. they could hav done alot worse too him. and he was more than just a bad person. he ruined so many peoples lives. and u didnt do the same thing as him because you did it to him for ruining many families lives. if you had not hav gone to iraq he would still be doin all the terrible things he had done all those years ago. And he would still be in charge of that country. Did u see all those people who pulled down his statue and jumped on it?? they wer all SO pleased that he ws gone and now they will be even more pleased because he cant hurt them anymore.

I am afaid you have it wrong Saddam Hussain was lawfully tried and executed by his own people who he had been murdering and torturing for 25 years , he was responserble for the deaths of millions of iraqes and iranions, who had better right than them to hold him to account for the terrible things that he did , the only people who are to blame are the very ones who helped him carry out what he did and they are the ones who are responserble for trying to push Iraq back to the stone age with the help of a load of santimonius idiots who are now feeling sorry for him . may he and they rot in hell for there crimes against humanity. and as for your nation that has lost 300 of your young men to people like that, you should be holding your head up high with pride not feeling responserble for a maniacs death. I thought we didn't hang him though - I thought it was the Iraqi govt. that hung him. They were the ones who decided his sentence, not us, so we didn't really have any say.
I don't even think hanging is still legal in the U.S. The last hanging in the U.S. took place in the 70's I think.
I don't know . . . I was trying to figure out what would have been the best punishment myself, and I was thinking that life in prison would be worse, but then I saw something on the news about how Saddam would sit back with his mistress and champagne and watch videos of executions and tortures that he ordered. That's pretty sick and disgusting. Totally inhumane.

i believe that no matter what someone has done, nobody has the right to take his/her life. this is a brutal way to show what exactly? power? democracy? where were all these people when saddam was killing freely? why they werent doing anything to stop him? now that he was alone in a prison they found the courage to stand up to him? thats just great...i hate what is going on around in the world these days. all i see is terrible things happening and so few resisting..the answer is no, he had to be stopped before, now that he commited all these crimes its too late, killing him will only bring more chaos and confusion.

He was an evil man but I don't believe in the death sentence under any circumstances and the way in which it was carried out was unacceptable.
Think of how strong a message the US,UK and Iraq could have given the world if they allowed him to live (in jail of course).
Now he will be seen as a martyr to his people and will cause much more unrest and needless death than he did when he was alive.

If anyone actually researched what this man did then they would not defend him. Without going into detail he killed even people from his own family that did not share his views.
He should have been tortured, much like the thousands he sent slowly to their deaths.
Once again, please make sure you are fully7 aware of this dictators crimes before trying to defend the way in which he died.
And again,,,,,, he should have been tortured,,,,,,,,,
his fate was sealed in a second,,,,,,,,,
his victims were not so lucky.

Murder is murder. Capital punishment should be abolished. There is blood on anyone's hands that agrees. He was a horrible human being and I am not sad to see him go. I am sad that people are happy that he was killed by man. We are not God. Playing God is dangerous, I mean isn't that what Hussein was trying to do during his rein? I believe so. So we are no better than he. God bless.

Leaving to rot in jail at the expense of Iraqi taxpayers would not have been right. Some Iraqis would have had family members killed by him, & to be supporting him in jail would not have gone down well.
