Why should pregnant women have to hide their bumps? I think they should show them off as they should be proud of their bump. When i was expecting my daughter i NEVER covered my bump and i don't care what anybody thought of me for it, why should i?

I've never heard of PROUD mothers of hiding their bumps... I'm proud to show off my new developing body! :) I have however heard of girls and women hiding their bumps because they were either embarrassed or scared to let others know about the situation. Think about it this way... if you were raped and then found out you got a bump... would you hide it? I would not be able to answer this question... but you get the point right? I've known girls in middle school that hid their bumps till they gave birth... they didn't want people to know... I feel sorry for people who aren't proud of the new being growing inside of them....

I'M PROUD OF MY BUMP! i'll flaunt it just like the other anatomies that are growing... *wink*

It's personal preference. Some pregnant women get stretch marks so bad they don't want anyone to see them, so they can't believe that someone else would want to show that off. Some pregnant women are also very sloppy about the way they carry themselves and the way they look in their clothes... trying to squeeze into clothes that are way too small because they don't want to look "fat."

I guess if people are judging you, it's probably only because they're trying to figure out your motivation for showing off the baby bump. If you don't want to cover it up, then you shouldn't have to (unless it's required for your job or at school to do so).

i wouldnt hide my bump in the summer although i woulnt wear a crop top but unless your at a certain stage you baby does not have fat under the skin to keep warm it also does not have the little hairs to keep them warm id rather hide my bump and keep my twins warm because its not as if you can ask are they warm enough although i dont have a problem with people showing the bump off i wouldnt in winter

if you ment bare bellys that is, i wear really nice fitted maternity tops that show off the shape rather than my skin an over protective mother already and they aint been born yet lol

It's kind of hard to hide a growing belly so of course i never try. If you mean showing a bare belly than that's kind of out of the question since it's January and freezing outside. Some women don't like to show their belly's simply because of stretch marks. Personally i wouldn't want to walk around all the time with my huge stomach for everyone to see. At home sure but for me having a baby is a personal experience, they weren't there when we were making it so why should i care now?!

Well some women hid their bumps from their employers when they don't want their boss to know about it right away. And the same goes for teenagers who don't want their parents, teachers and other students to know.

I think us ladies should be proud of being pregnant. But on the other hand, some women go too far by wearing belly shirts and too tight of clothing. You should be tasteful about it.

I'm on baby number 2 now and i'm 25 weeks, i never hide my baby bump, i'm proud of the fact that i'm bringing life into the world, i'd never cover up the fact that i am pregnant, its perfectly respectable

I believe you should show off your "bump" I am at 25 weeks. Most women who are self-consious are the ones to hide their pregnancy beauty. There should be no shame in the beautiful roundness ("bump") from and of pregnancy

I feel the same way. When i was 17 my friend who was 16 was pregnant and didnt want anyone to know, she thought people would make fun of her and her parents would be really mad at her. That is a little different situation though. I think every woman should show it off.

I would NEVER try to hide mine. If people don't like it, they can just not look at me! I love having a good reason to be a chunky girl!! LOL

I do have a sister in law though and she works with patients in a psych ward. Her patients are extremely violent people and she has chosen to hide hers because she is afraid that if her patients knew she was pregnant they would target her when they become violent. She has never felt forced to by her employer, it is just a decision she made her own

A lot of women let it all hang out now. I agree I'm 19 weeks and proud of my pooch. I can't let skin show cause of work but I do wear fitted shirts that show off my future baby♥
