Do I have to do something with the SIM? I tried linking the bluetooth on both phones to see if this would work but nothing happens. I dont want to have to enter in all my contacts one by one. This is all new to me so a detailed step by step reply would be great! Many thanks

Most newer phones have the ability to copy all contacts over to the sim card if they aren't automatically saved there to begin with. For directions, call your provider from another phone and they can walk you thru the process, it only takes a few minutes. If you have an older phone, you might have to do it one by one. Some companies (tmobile) have a feature on their website where you can enter a group of numbers at a time and it will send them to your sim card. Good luck!

It would have been much easier if you have mentioned your mobile phone make and model.
but most modern phones have the option to send all contacs to another phone via bluetooth or IR. for example the SE K750i has the option to send contacts like this.
There is an option in the Phone Book --> Options --> Advanced --> Send All Contacts
Just go through your phone's phone book menu to see if there is an option like that.
If not, what you can do is copy all your contacts to your sim card and put the sim in your new phone. To do this (again not knowing your phone model makes it harder to give you step by step instructructions) go to the phone book/contacts and there should be an option named something like Copy to SIM/Copy or something like that. Select that and then copy all the contacts to yout SIM and put it in your new phone.

Yes you do need to transfer your contacts to sim. Usually people don't recognize that when they're saving contacts; they are actually saving it to their phone memory. So you need to change your phone setting from saving to phone to saving it to a sim card. There is also product that works like USB. It's called cellstik. However, not all cellphone model can be connected to cellstik. Check this website and see if your phone is compatible.

it would help if you gave the type of phone. however you shuold somehow find out how to copy all your contacts to the sim and then put the sim card into you new phone and your contacts will be there! if you have a new sim card as well, you will have to save the contacts onto your new fone from the sim.

What kind of phone do you have? Can you go to your phone dealer for help?

I do believe you have to swich the card in the back to do that.

If i had the phone model, I think I could find detailed directions.

Good luck
