Most common info or quotation pages will tell if there is a dividend and its rate of yield or even when the cut-off for the next dividend is, assuming it has one. WSJ, BusinessWeek, CNN.com, even Yahoo Finance.

Of course, you could also click on investor relations at the company's website.

Top10Traders has a dividend page. Click on the link below, and then enter your stock symbol, and it should tell you if it has a dividend, and when the dividend will be paid:

You have to own the stock before the ex-date in order to be entitled to the dividend.

The financial websites all have tons of information. To save yourself a lot of time, try to screen for good stocks that pay good dividends. You can get an easy list to start with and do your research from there.

You can look up all sorts of information about companies before investing in them at the Yahoo Finance section. It also includes dividend information.

In yahoo/finance, when you get a "quote" the dividend is listed. I think its usually the last item in the second column.

the div here is 10.2%
