The EARLIEST that you can hear a heartbeat on Doppler is 10 weeks, but that is not to say that you WILL hear the heartbeat on Doppler at 10 weeks.

Most doctors do an ultrasound at 10 weeks, which will allow the doctor to actually see the heartbeat. I'm having mine at 10 weeks, and my doctor assured me that she'll be able to see it then.

It sounds like you might consider another doctor. It's not right that he is putting you through this stress. We pregnant people worry enough about miscarriage without a doctor causing unnecessary extra concerns!

Don't worry about it. The earliest a heartbeat can be heard with a doppler is 10 weeks, but that is only if you are skinny, fat will make it harder to hear and the baby is so tiny that it is hard to find anyway!
I'm sure everything will be fine and the heartbeat will be found at your next appointment.
Best wishes

dont worry. I heard the heartbeat on doppler for the first time at 10 weeks with my first baby but with this baby, I didnt hear it on doppler until almost 13 weeks. So far she has been perfectly healthy and I am 33 1/2 weeks now! Dont worry you will hear it soon enough.

My dr did not ever try to hear heartbeat till 12 weeks. He said it would only make me nervous if we didn't hear it. But with my last baby I had an ultrasound at 10 weeks, because of a previous problem, and we could see the heartbeat. I would not be worried( but I know that is hard to do). I think that was an insensitive question for the dr to ask you. I dont think I ever "felt" pregnant at 10 weeks.

I think it was pretty irresponsible of your doctor to worry you like that. When I had my 10 week appointment, the midwife said there was no point in trying to hear the heartbeat as it was too early.
Even 2 weeks time is early.
Years ago, my mum went to the doctor when she was 5 months pregnant and the doctor said he couldn't hear or feel anything and doubted if she was still pregnant, but she was! It's just because she's got a deep pelvis.

It is possible that the heartbeat wasn't heard because the uterus is still behind the pelvic bone. My doc had a hard time at 12 weeks and almost gave me an ultrasound but finally found it. I wonder why he didn't do an ultrasound. Odd. I wouldn't worry too much unless you start cramping or bleeding. I know that won't really help ease your mind until you go back, but it's probably just being blocked by the pelvic bone.

Thats somewhat early to get a stable examining on the pulse. i replaced into 12-13 weeks & they had a tricky time looking the toddler. whilst they have been given the pulse for a 2nd, the toddler moved. At 10-12 weeks there remains relatively some room for the toddler to pass around so it makes it difficult to get the heartrate. once you're sixteen+ weeks it will be greater handy on your physician to discover. And fetal heartbeats dont sound like our heartbeat. So if your not conscious of what it sounds like it could be uncomplicated to omit. pass on youtube & lookup "fetal heart fee/beat at 10,11,or 12 weeks" that way you may grow to comprehend what curiously like. My toddler's heart fee replaced into 162 at 12 weeks. quickly huh? nicely it will be greater substantive at your next pass to. And the fee of miscarriage isn't too intense at 10 weeks, even nonetheless it dramatically decreases at 12 weeks. I wouldnt trouble a pair of miscarriage, they frequently happen in the 1st month or so. Congratulations & stable success!

Here in the UK the doctors dont even bother trying to find the heartbeart until 14 weeks....this is for a reason! The reason being that it cant always be found and hence worries women for no reason whatsoever! Dont worry I am sure your baby is ok. But I do strongly advise changing doctor as the one you have now is useless!
