Another point i would like to make out is usc does not need all star players or heisman candidates to be ranked top 5 or 8 unlike ohio st needs troy smith to be rank #1, and ohio st had a weak schedule. This yr USC blew away arkansas, nebraska, norte dame, and michigan. and what bcs team did ohio st played this yr? texas and michigan.

USC beat a Michigan team that was the #2 team in an overrated conference. #3 Wisconsin was tossed around for 4 quarters by Arkansas and escaped with a win. Only Penn State actually deserved to win their bowl out of everybody in the Big 10 and that game was against Tennessee.

USC beat Arkansas while McFadden was hurt, which made it a much easier win than it would have been later in the season.

USC cannot be ranked as #1. The Oregon State and UCLA losses should make that clear. However, they should rank #4 behind split National Champs Boise State and Ohio State / Florida and #3 Louisville.

How can you say that the Rose Bowl proves that USC is the best college football team? They lost to UCLA in the regular season! If they were the best team in the nation, then they should be undefeated, not the 2-loss team that they are. The Rose Bowl only proves that USC can beet Michigan on home territory (remember the Rose Bowl is only down the street from them). Even with a loss for OSU in the NC game, they'll still be ranked higher with only one loss. USC barely squeaked by last year with a few of their wins to crappy teams; this year it finally caught up to them.

I knew I was going to hear this kind of nonesense from a Condoms fan at some point. Dude, your team lost two games to fairly weak opponents. They had a great game in the Rose Bowl, which may allow them to sneak back into the top 5, but to be the best team in the country you have to be consistent. The Heisman shot is bizarre, considering the trophy winners that they've had of late. And I'm sick of hearing about OSU's supposedly weak schedule. They played and 8 teams that went or are going to bowl games not even counting the BCS Championship game against Florida next week. Sorry about your luck, but if you lose two games you don't get to play for the title.

Memo to iin operator: Wow, we watched two totally different Wisconsin games.

But USC has 2 losses... and the fact that Ohio State was #1 straight through the year just proves that they have been the best team in college football all year.. and the fact that Ohio State is undefeated doesn't really hurt either. However, Boise State should get SOME recognition after this year going 13-0 and beating Oklahoma.

No the rose bowl proved they could beat michigan....Not Ohio St or Florida...so they are 3rd...and True USC did have decent Schedule this year...but you did get beat by UCLA...which proves...you are not number 1...but on the other hand...You have alot of good players coming back..and a decent recruiting season...i do see yall going back to the Title Game Next year.

There are only two undefeated teams, and USC is not one of them. Ohio State and Boise State! OF course, Ohio State did not have to play Wisconsin this year, who is also a top 5 team!

dont get me wrong, i LOVE usc(been to all their home games the last 10 years or so) but the best teams in the country dont loose to oregon and ucla... maybee if theyre having a good day they are the best team in the country, but the best needs to be consistently great , not go from great to crappy every few weeks.

ohio didnt have a tough schedule, but florida sure did....

I personally think they are, but I don't think the Rose Bowl proves it.

We need to see USC v. Ohio State.
