So you're going to be working for the FBI or CIA based on the information you provided. A friend of mine applied for the job and the psychological exam was pretty intense, if not very mentally confusing and stressful. They question you on your ethics and ask you how you would react based on different scenarios which evoke different emotional, physical, and psychological responses. Basically, they will pick at your brain and see what makes you tick and what it takes to break you down mentally. Good luck, because a polygraph test is also involved to determine if you are sincere when questioned under pressure.

Some companies will ask you to take a Myers Briggs exam. Its a grest way to find out how the person will fit into the 'team'. Remember, once you have the interview, the potential empolyer is only looking for whether you will work well in the team.

There are many other types of personality profile tests that companies use with a similar purpose. And of course if you are being considered for a position where children are involved they may be looking for tendancies that will put the children at risk.

There is no way to study for these tests and no way to fool them, so your best bet is to be honest and be yourself. This can be a learning experience for you and there is nothing wrong with that!

Make sure you ask them if they will share their findings with you as that is only fair.

Good Luck!

I made the mistake of applying for an office job for a psychiatrist and took mounds of tests. My mistake? I told the truth. Then the Doc called me to come back, I got all dressed like I got the job, and the fool tried to point out what a nut case I was!! Last time for that. Just imagine yourself as the best little girl or boy you knew and answer it for them. Borrow their perfect upbringing. And be consistent because they trap you by asking the same question in other ways.

I have had several done for employment and mine consisted of a battery of questions like "do you prefer the color red, blue, green" and "true or false; I get angry often" and then they come up with some scoring system to tell them if youre nuts or not. I dont know what yours will be like, but that was mine.

depending on the job, you might be given the MMPI or another standardized psychologist test.

the most important thing to do is to be honest. many tests have built in lie-detectors which are used to determine if people are being truthful.

Unless you have some weird behavior or a mental illness, you don't have to worry about it. It does depend what test will be given to you. Each test asks different questions.
