If you mean notes like those, you can use an ASCII shortcut on your computer to type them out without using the system's character map.

Try ALT + 13 and ALT + 14.
Basically hold down the alt button and on your numpad, type in the number 1, then number 3, then let go of the alt button. There ya go!
