The US sponsored Saddam and Osama, providing them with millions of dollars in aid... Also, the US had supplied Saddam with chemical weapons that were later used against the Kurds and Iran. How come Saddam was not considered "bad", "evil", and "non-democratic" back then? Why was Osama so loved by the US? The main question is: How can you claim to be a "democratic", "free" and "lawful" society when your main values are HYPOCRISY, GREED, SELFISHNESS, AND XENOPHOBIA ???

Why was the "Soviet occupation" a valid reason for fighting back while the "American occupation" should be taken as is?

Hey, there are lots of US citizens who don't approve of what the gov't has done and is doing...I've been protesting this stuff for years. The CIA with the gov'ts approval, does many things that are kept secret or are not reported in the so called left wing biased media. We always considered Saddam bad, but it was in the government's best interests (corporate interests) to put him there and keep him there. It's all about greed and money and they will tell the people anything to justify what they do. We're not all sheep though, I vote and write to my representatives and boycott and continue to read between the lines to look for the truth.

Thumbs down for me, I am sure.

Both were backed by the US due to their anti-communism goals. Both were against Russian occupation of the middle East.In 1963, a CIA-organized coup did successfully assassinate Qasim, a supporter of spreading communism and Saddam's Ba'ath Party came to power for the first time. The CIA then provided the new Iraqi regime with the names of thousands of communists, and other leftist activists and organizers. Thousands of these supporters of Qasim and his policies were destroyed.
Osama Bin Laden started off as a freedom fighter, a Mujahideen, against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan... So state the facts sweet thing ... As the threat of communism and Russian occupation dwindled both OBL and Saddam adopted anti- American goals..

We were welcome by the Iraqi's Russia wasn't . One thing you need to remember, the Iraqi people are not the ones fighting the coalition forces Islamic radicals from other countries are. In fact it is these same radicals that continually kill and torture the Iraqi's , not the coalition forces. Why are you not attacking these occupiers??After the US came in according to an opinion poll conducted by NDTV in Baghdad.
. As per the poll, a sizeable 54 per cent of the respondents believed that America did the right thing by invading Iraq while 32 per cent felt it was wrong. A more detailed analysis showed that the older Iraqis (over 40 years) Iraqis tend to be more pro- American and anti-Saddam.

The same reason we were allies with one of the worst mass-murderers in history, Joseph Stalin.

Because, in our world - might is right, and history is written by the victors..

Perhaps 100 years from now, after the wane of the US Empire, historians might offer a different prespective.

Two cliches:

1) Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

2) The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
