how do you get stains out of an carpet?

my brother (by mistake) lit an firecracker in the house it burnt the carpet but were trying to get the black stains out from the gun powder. im just trying to get some opinions

If the pile of the carpet is singed then you can cut the worst of it out with a simple pair of sharp scissors. Then buy stock in Spot Shot, cuz once you use the stuff, you will tell everyone you know to buy a case of it! I did. If you live in a house with carpet, wear clothes, or have cloth furniture and seats in your car, buy buy buy!

Windex is actually a good stain remover for carpet. Be sure not to get the kind with ammonia because it will dry out the padding. Never used it on burn marks before though but it works great for everything else I have used it on.

Make a paste of baking soda and water. Rub it on the stain adn let it dry. Then vaccuum it up. Always works for me, even with tomato and blood.

Have you ever tried "Spot Shot"? It works wonders on most stains and pet odors. Comes in a blue and orange spray can and is sold most everywhere. Good luck!!!!!!!!

try a light degreaser for carpet ( breakclean 40 ) or oxyclean

is the carpet burnt or stained??? if its burnt it can be repaired, most stains can be removed.

go to the dollar store and get some awesome spray its only a dollar and spray it on and let sit than wipe it off
