I need new frames but not sure which to pick from. I currently have black plastic frames with brown on the side. What's the trend now? Metal, frameless, Tortoise shell plastic?

Rimless frames are popular but the most trendy look seems to be plastic, bold colored frames.
A good compromise would be to get rimless frames with strong color accents and a pair of matching sunglass lens clip-ons. Such frames work for winter and summer.

if you don't want your glasses to be really noticable then pick frameless ones or if you want them to stick out pick some with frames that have a bright color

get ones with pink along the edges it will bring out something on your face, not sure what because you didn't mention th eye color or anything.
